Born in Lantibongan Village, Selayar, Anshari graduated from Hasanuddin University in 2021 with a degree from the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries Science. In 2022, he participated in a LINI X Packard Foundation internship with a focus project on biological data collection for Octopus in Selayar. Prior to his current role as Selayar Field Officer, he worked as a project-based surveyor for CV. Development and Environment Consultant from 2018 to 2021. He is certified as a SSI Science of Diving Speciality diver, with additional credentials in Reef Check EcoDiver. He is an expedition enthusiast and has participated in multiple expeditions, which are documented in the books Eksplore Spermonde edisi Pulau Lanjungkang dan Pulau Pajenekang.
